OUR STORY

Back in 2017, we kicked off our journey at Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, TN, as the Fluid Mechanics Research Lab. We've recently made a big move to the University of South Florida, and we're now proudly known as the Thermofluids Discovery Laboratory! Exciting times ahead as we launch this new chapter of exploration and discovery!

Over the years, the lab has been a nurturing environment for 44 student researchers, including nine Ph.D. candidates, seven M.Sc. students, and 28 undergraduate researchers. By providing research opportunities and mentorship, the lab has played a significant role in shaping the future of these aspiring scholars.

TD Lab is equipped with state-of-the-art experimental and computational facilities featuring major instrumentations ranging from lasers and optic equipment to fully instrumented portable weather towers to study fluid flow and heat transfer phenomena over a broad range of scales, from microns to kilometers.
